With over 400 million users on Facebook, a custom landing page is a great way to engage your customers, encourage brand loyalty and drive traffic to your main website.
First you will need to customize your page. You can add any text you want. Try to give your visitors a reason to like your page. You can include links using the <a> tag. Just be sure to use either a [target="_blank"] or a [target="_top"] tag. Otherwise the link will open inside the iframe on your facebook page and that usually is not pretty… There is a character limit of 250.
You can upload your logo or custom image for the image area, or you can use the image provided. The file size limit is 200k and the max image size limit is 480px X 400px. The image provided is 285px high. Using a taller image will cause the app to appear taller, lowering the bottom red arrow. You can use different height images to adjust the bottom arrow to line up with the “Add to my Favorites” link on your Facebook page.
After you have completed the customization of your landing page you will be directed to the application wall where you will need to add the app to your page. Click the “Add to my Page” link in the lower left of the application wall.
Next you will need to set the application as your default landing tab. From your Facebook page wall, in the upper right click on “Edit Page.” Then on the “Manage Permissions” page you will see a setting labeled “Default Landing Tab.” Select “Landing Page” then click “Save Changes.” That’s it. Now visitors that HAVE NOT “liked” your page will land on your custom landing page. Everyone else that HAS “liked” your page will still land on your wall.
